Injury Prevention

Did you know?
Preventable injuries are the #1 killer of children in the United States?

Safe Kids Metro Kansas City

In conjunction with community partners, Safe Kids works to prevent accidental injury and death through education, research and advocating for laws to protect children. The program targets Wyandotte county in Kansas, and Clay, Platte and Jackson counties in Missouri due to higher childhood injury statistics in those locations – nearly 20,000 injuries per year. Those injuries include car wrecks, falls, poisonings, burns, drownings, heatstroke, bike/pedestrian accidents, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and more.
