Safe Sleep

Safe Sleep

From 2012-2016, 16% of infant deaths in Kansas City were sleep-related deaths.* The majority of all sleep-related deaths are preventable. The safest place for a baby to sleep is in a crib. All other surfaces, especially in bed with mom or dad puts the baby at risk. Our job is to ensure that every family practices safe sleep.

Nurture KC coordinates the Safe Sleep Task Force, a group of committed volunteers working to reduce infant deaths through community education about safe sleep practices. If you have a passion for reducing sleep-related infant deaths in Kansas City, please JOIN OUR TASK FORCE today!
