MARICELA SANCHEZ

Maricela Sanchez joined Nurtured KC in August 2022 as a Community Health Worker (CHW). She is already connecting with our Spanish-speaking moms and making a difference. In her previous position with Victor Community Support Services in Southern California, she was certified as a CHW of mental health and facilitated workshops to educate the community. In her role at Nurture KC, Maricela says, “I’m excited to be a part of the Healthy Start Program, especially to help pregnant women overcome barriers and educate them on such topics as postpartum depression and breastfeeding.” Maricela holds a CHW certification from Loma Linda University. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family – including her three girls – and being creative, such as refurbishing old furniture and designing balloon garlands. She is also an animal lover and has three dogs, four cats, two roosters, a ferret and a turtle.
