Kansas Lieutenant Governor Lynn Rogers stopped in for a conversation with community residents and partners, including Nurture KC, in Wyandotte County, to discuss the need for Medicaid expansion and the great impact it would have on moms and babies. Two mothers shared their struggles in navigating a health care system that removes coverage for many post-partum moms within 60 days. Thirty-six states have expanded Medicaid and the results are in. Infant mortality is down by 50 percent in expansion states, compared to non-expansion states. Nurture KC supports expanded Medicaid as a critical step in improving health for our most vulnerable families.
